[Mid-afternoon is...early morning, for a night-shifter. Daedalus has only been awake for about an hour, but pushes himself to full alert as he enters the coffeehouse (the scent of the place helps).

He's not in his coat, and so he's a bit hard to pick out from the crowd... younger, out of scrubs and hospital ID and uniform. He comes to the counter and orders a coffee, skimming the shop sleepily for a man who looks something like Oz, who he's seen once before, briefly.]

[Jack is actually looking out for a hospital uniform; he didn't know Daedalus was working the night shift.

He distractedly takes the newest customer's order, plait tied up the back of his head -- ]

Ah, hello, good afternoon! What can I get for you today?

[He blinks blearily down at the row of biscotti, reaching for his pocket- it'll be the debit card turned over that'll have his name.]

- you okay? You look a bit peaky.

Third shift...but I'm alright. [A tired smile.] Waiting for-

[He stares a wondering moment at the man behind the counter, squinting, wondering-]

[Jack clucks his tongue.] Third shift, are you sure you should be getting coffee? Maybe some tea, or - something, Mister -

[Double-taking on his name. His brows raise politely, and then a smile.

Ah...that's right, he would be grabbing another later, and at this rate he was beginning to have a dependency- nothing like Godot's, but if he ever needed to reason to watch caffeine intake- well there you are.]

A tea then...peppermint if you've got.

[He offers mildly, before the smile turns to brief flash of a smirk. Yes, not he can see the resemblance, suspicions tying up into a questioning wink of light in his eyes]
